Convert to DNxHD
Convert video files to DNxHD format.
Convert to DNxHD is designed for creating edit-friendly intermediate video files that slot more comfortably into post-production and finishing workflows than long-GOP source material. It is especially useful when you want a codec that behaves more predictably during playback, handoff, or round-tripping.
- Batch-convert supported video files to DNxHD.
- Keep a consistent intermediate format for editorial and post handoff.
- Optionally normalize the embedded audio track before export.
- Control folder structure and filename tagging for clean batch output.
The recipe validates each input as a readable video source, analyzes audio only when normalization is enabled, and then renders the DNxHD output through ffmpeg. That keeps the workflow light enough for routine conversions while still giving you a little finishing control on the audio side.
Included Workflow
- Validate the source as a video file
- Measure duration and frame rate before processing
- Analyze audio when normalization is enabled
- Render DNxHD output
- Report invalid files and overwrite conflicts directly in the file list
Settings
- Audio normalization: none, peak, true peak, LUFS
- Auto Start
- Overwrite
- Custom Folder
- Sub Folder
- Name Tag
Convert to DNxHD works best as a practical interchange recipe: not flashy, but extremely useful when you need robust editorial files instead of delivery-optimized source codecs.
