Custom Loudness
Analyse and fix audio levels with custom settings
Custom Loudness is the flexible loudness workbench in the Magnetron recipe set. Instead of locking you into one platform profile, it opens a processing popup where you can decide how files should be measured, matched, limited, exported, and even converted on a run-by-run basis.
- Normalize by LUFS, dialog-gated LKFS, peak, true peak, PPM, or RMS.
- Process files individually, match everything to the loudest file, or use one reference file as the gain anchor.
- Export all files, modified files only, or run analysis without export.
- Keep the source format or convert to WAV, AIFF, or FLAC during output.
The recipe analyzes every queued file first, stores the measured values, and then opens a settings popup before processing continues. That makes it feel more like a mastering decision point than a fixed preset recipe: you can adapt the rule set to the job in front of you instead of maintaining a separate recipe for every special case.
Popup Settings
- Normalize mode and target
- Analyze mode: individual, loudest as reference, specific reference file
- Export policy: all, modified only, never
- Output format: keep source or convert
- Output container, bit depth, sample rate, and dither when converting
- Tolerance
- Limiter mode and limiter threshold
- Overwrite
- Custom Folder, Sub Folder, Name Tag
- Revalidate after processing
The recipe can also show detailed before-and-after measurement information in the file tooltip, which makes it especially useful for custom client specs, edge cases, and internal QC tasks where the built-in platform presets are too rigid.
